Moxie Blue - A True Story
Moxie Blue is a breast cancer thriver, burlesque performer and producer from Seattle, Washington.
Shortly after being laid off from her job in late 2009 she was diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2010 she underwent a mastectomy and began chemotherapy all while starting a new job. While looking for a creative outlet following surgery and DIEP reconstruction, she started taking classes at Seattle's Academy of Burlesque with her daughter, Pat Smear. While preparing for a class recital, Moxie decided to incorporate her cancer journey into her act in part to serve as an inspiration to others. Moxie and Pat graduated from the academy, and Moxie started producing her own shows under the name Fat Bottom Productions. She’s now a well-known producer in Seattle and has been tagged Seattle’s favorite MILF! Both Moxie and Pat perform solo but occasionally perform as duo under the name The Bryant Sisters. In Moxie Blue’s own words “Scars don’t define me, my age doesn’t define me, how my body looks doesn’t define me, I’m still an attractive person worthy of love and affection - and burlesque got me there!” |
